The Mutual Power Alpine 4000 clone history:

In May 2000 the Mutual Power's supplier (Xpider Co.) copied Eagnas EAG-700. In order to reduce the cost, the Alpine 4000 does not provide the disc brake system for the turntable. Also the factory does not want to invest the capital to design and create the mold for the oversized clamp, the Alpine 4000 does not provide 2 oversized clamps.
